AccuRadio android app

Hi, I've been a loyal AccuRadio listener for many years, but your mobile app is really aggravating..

(1) Whether I am on Wi-Fi or 3G, it commonly (80% of the time) gives the "Cannot Connect to AccuRadio's servers -- Please check that you connected to the Internet, or try again later" error. I don't have this problem with other apps at all. I'd suggest relaxing the technical parameters the app uses to judge the presence/absence of a connection, because the readings are inaccurate. My spouse has the same issue on an iPhone 8, so it's not unique to my device, which is a Mi A1 running Android 7.1.2.

(2) When the app is working, and I want to stop streaming music, my device keeps playing music and I can do nothing to stop it. Hitting the pause button doesn't work, shutting down the app also doesn't do anything. The only way to stop music is to reboot my device.
